ABOUT
Founding Story
Jordyn Burnouf is a proud Nehîyaw|Cree woman from the Métis community of Île-á-la Crosse, SK and a member of Black Lake First Nation. Jordyn is the Sustainable Energy & Sovereignty Specialist with the Métis Nation-Saskatchewan, Guide at her family’s land-based camp - Pemmican Lodge, climate pro-activist, hunter and wild rice harvester.
Jordyn is a 20/20 Indigenous Clean Energy Catalyst, former Co-Chair of SevenGen and Co-Founder of SevenGen’s Indigenous youth mentorship program, ImaGENation.
Jordyn continues to advocate and create space for youth and women in the energy sector through her leadership roles on the Board of Directors with Indigenous Clean Energy and the Canadian Climate Institute.
Jordyn is also a member of the Wah-ila-toos Advisory Council providing guidance and advice on funding from Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and Crown Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC), in collaboration with Indigenous Services Canada, Infrastructure Canada, and Environment and Climate Change Canada.
